Can Do

Kia ora, talofa!
Kiwi kids can do anything they set their mind to, especially if they have a pair of older hands to help them :o)
We've got a list of things you might like to make and do which we keep adding to. We'd love to have your ideas included here too so email us with your favourite thing to make or do.

This Week's Can Do

Selin's Miniature Dollhouse

Selin has the perfect way to create your own dream home...or dream apartment... dream shopping centre...dream castle.

WHAT YOU NEED:
A4 paper
scissors
glue
mini pictures of furniture, rugs, potplants etc

WHAT YOU DO:
Cut your A4 paper into strips around 6cm wide, lengthways.

Fold each strip into 5 squares, around 6cm long. You’ll have 5 squares.

Cut the majority of the end square off, so you’re left with a 1cm tab.Open the strip out and lay it flat on the table.

Use your glue stick to spread glue on the back of the small pictures of furniture, rugs, picture frames, pot plants etc as you want to place each image inside your house.

Start with the floor rug for the room and glue it in square 2 on the strip.  If it’s a bedroom, place the bed on this square.  Then place any windows, doors or pictures on square 1 and 3.

Spread glue along the tab and stick the tab to the ceiling square (4), then place it aside to dry and move on to the rest of the house/apartment block,
shopping mall or even castle!

Have fun! And maybe send us a picture of your miniture dollhouse when you’re finished.
